My laptop is broken and my hardrive is probably screwed. I have essays due in soon that I was stupid enough to not back up. Liam isn’t sleeping because he’s stressed and probably going to have to resit a year at uni through no fault of his own.
I feel like shit right now.

How the hell am I supposed to cope with saying goodbye to my sister for two years as she moves halfway across the world when I’ve been coping on 6 hours broken sleep for about 3 weeks?
I’d better not embarrass myself and cry at her leaving do tonight.
Liam has put aside his hatred for all things stage-show in order to help me do a good-quality recording of ‘On My Own’ for youtube.
It was a bit pricey, but he’s worth it and it’s something we’ll both get to enjoy. I’m taking him on his first ever trip to London! He’s picked all the stuff we’re going to do, which I don’t mind at all because he’s picked some cool stuff and this is my 5th trip anyway. We’re doing:

My mum’s attitude to my education and career decisions really bothers me. She can’t trust me to make my own decisions and do me own research and stay motivated. She hasn’t been happy with me since I failed with Cambridge and turned down my Durham offer.
I don’t think I’m ever going to win. Whatevs.
Emailing round loads of places about industrial years, and found some pretty interesting possibilities. Music teaching assistant, social work intern, council equality services and university research all sound brilliant.
Now I just have to find one (or two or three) that’s in Leeds, paid, I’m qualified for and that will actually take me on.
You can be an atheist and give stuff up for Lent, okay. It’s not even unusual.
I find it weird when people find the two things incompatible. Maybe that’s because I went to a Catholic school where practically everybody observed Lent regardless of what they believed, but like… no. It’s not unusual. I’m not appropriating, it’s okay to fast without being religious.
Lent isn’t even obligatory for Christians, and an atheist can still get most of the benefits that a Christian will out of a fast. I find it awesome and humbling to be so aware that I have so much, and I can choose to give something up for Lent. I think it’s good to be reminded of how privileged you are no matter what. Hmm.
Me and Liam have finally picked a 21st birthday present for him that I can afford and he loves. It’s (almost) definite … London, baby!
I’m so excited to go back, and see everywhere and show him my favourite things and have a meal in China Town, etcetera. Eeek.
